Cuba:Economy
Cuba is not a very free country, as they have very strict rules in their economy. Most economic activity is oversaw by the state, and no movement has been made to improve economic freedom. Another thing controlled by the state, tightly in fact, is there financial sector.Although Cuba is a member in the World Trade Organization, their economy is still distant with the international marketplace. Raul Castro currently leads the government and the Cuban Communist Party. Corruption still remains to be a problem, though not as much as other Latin American countries. Cuba has close ties with Venezuela, as they rely on them heavily for oil. Cuba's individual income tax rate is roughly 50 percent, having fiscal freedom at 61.8 percent.Primary Source:http://www.heritage.org/index/country/cuba
